With the start of the new year, a lot of the music publications have posted articles about various milestones for albums released 20, 25, 30, etc., years ago. I took a look at one on Ultimate Classic Rock and it brought back a mix of emotions from what was a pretty tough time in the history of hard rock and heavy metal. A bunch of the records shown in the banner at the top of the article were in my collection, CDs that I had bought at the time, and nearly all of the ones I saw were bands that were in some sort of transition following their glory days.

Here’s a video I did going over a few of the records from that list. A big chunk of the 90’s were tough in my world and I had no idea at the time that I would get to see Poison, Ratt, Great White and L.A. Guns together the following year at the Universal Amphitheater. That package show was one of the first signs I had that we were going to be able to go on without the mainstream media supporting us and I would soon be able to see my favorite bands live much like I did before the early-to-mid 90s came along.
